Buttercream rosette cakes are just as beautiful as they are versatile.  I’ve made them for birthdays, baby showers, gender reveals, smash cakes, holidays, engagements, and more.  This texture of buttercream looks great on it’s own, or perfected with an edible image banner or a cute cake topper.  The rosettes can be in a solid color, multi-colored, or ombre.  I use the Wilton tip 1M, and sometimes include some smaller star tips.  Here’s a gallery of rosette cakes I’ve made, as well as a quick tutorial video. Piping purple ombré buttercream on a 6″ ube-fan cake! Using Wilton tip 1M. MMC BAKES is a San Diego-based cake artist with a licensed home baking business. Alice In Wonderland Cake

This Alice in Wonderland cake is definitely one of my favorites!  I love the baby blue mixed with the red hearts and black diamonds.  The top tier is a 6″, and the bottom tier is a 10″.  The teacups on top are made with gum paste, and they are the most difficult items on this cake to sculpt, and they need several days to dry to attach the handles.  Below is a post I put on Instagram about creating the bottom tier’s diamond pattern.  I also made a video for the making of the cute little smash cake, as well as photos of the cakes on my client’s gorgeous dessert table.
My first Alice in Wonderland smash cake is my most pinned cake design on Pinterest, so I thought I’d share a tutorial on how I put this recent one in baby blue to match the client’s color palette. It’s a 4″ buttercream cake with sculpted fondant candle & roses?Enjoy!? I’m a San Diego based cake artist with a licensed home baking business. Here’s a look at the “It’s a Small World” Cake I made in October 2016. It’s a two-tier fondant covered cake with a 360-degree design around the bottom tier made of a bunch of fondant cutouts in the style of the “It’s a Small World” castle at Disneyland.  I thought this was such a lovely, unique theme!  Just think about the awesome backdrop & fun props you can use to decorate!  The bottom tier was an 8″ hazelnut cake with Nutella buttercream.  The top tier was a 6″ ube purple yam cake with ube buttercream. Client review: “Thank you so much Joy! The cake was such a hit andeveryone loved it ? It definitely completed mia’s birthday theme!” – Ria I’m a San Diego based cake artist with a licensed home baking business.
