WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY & HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU NEED?

See my Inquiry page for availability.  I need a minimum of 2 weeks notice on any custom order.  Crinkle cookies need at least 1 week notice.  Typically custom cakes are booked out on my calendar at least 6-8 weeks.  Please note that I DO NOT hold dates.  Deposits are required to secure your booking.

CUSTOM ORDER REQUIREMENTS 
  1. Please allow at least 2 weeks notice for custom orders as they are more time consuming, and may require supply orders.
  2. Custom Cakes have a size requirement of a minimum of 40 servings, which is either a 10″ cake, or a two-tier 6″ over 8″ cake.
  3. Custom Cakes start at $300 for cakes covered in buttercream, and $340 for cakes covered in fondant.
  4. Custom Fondant Cupcakes start at $200 for a minimum 24-pc order. These are for cupcakes decorated with custom fondant edible art.
  5. Custom Orders of Cupcakes (Non-Fondant), French Macarons, etc./items not listed on our menu, have a $150 minimum order requirement.
    • These are standard-size cupcakes with frosting & sprinkles only; about 3-dozen minimum for the $150 minimum order.
    • That would be about 70 custom macarons for the $150 minimum order. Circles only, no custom shapes.
    • For example, say you’re interested in ordering glittery ivory colored macarons with Irish Cream filling for your wedding, and we are not offering that at the moment, the minimum order is $150 of that particular color and flavor of macarons.
  6. Custom Orders are Cakes, Cupcakes (mini or standard size), Flavors (i.e. you want a flavor that we don’t already have in stock), etc., that are not listed on our menu are considered CUSTOM.

Pending availability, and if we’re offering them at the moment, you may be able to order crinkle cookies, flan cupcakes or French Macarons.

DO YOU HAVE A STORE?  WHERE CAN I BUY YOUR BAKED GOODS?  

MMC Bakes is a licensed home baking business, and you can order from me directly online through this site.  I do not have a storefront.

DO YOU SHIP?

No, not at the moment.

WHERE DO I PICKUP MY ORDER?  DO YOU DELIVER? 

Pickups are mostly done at my private residence in Chula Vista.  Address will be provided to clients only.

Minimum order for delivery is $200.  Minimum delivery fee is $25.  Delivery fee will apply depending on mileage, time, and requirements.  Three-tier cakes have delivery fees included in your quote, due to the fact that it is a requirement that we deliver it directly to the venue.  Subject to availability.

WHY ARE CUSTOM CAKES PRICIER THAN GROCERY STORE CAKES?

Custom cakes are incomparable to ready-made cakes.  We use premium fondant & quality ingredients.  We focus on quality, not quantity.  We spend days baking & making fillings from scratch, researching, and finally creating details and artistry of the cake!  Read my client feedback to see.

CUSTOM CAKE/FRENCH MACARON ORDERS F.A.Q.

WHAT ARE YOUR CAKE FLAVORS?

During the quoting process, I will send my list of cake flavors with a wide variety of combos to choose from.  My cakes are baked to order with premium ingredients and are not too sweet!  Read my client feedback, I always receive compliments on the way my cakes taste.

HOW DO I PLACE A CUSTOM ORDER FOR FRENCH MACARONS?

For custom orders of flavors/colors of macarons, minimum order is $150.  Must allow for at least 2-4 weeks notice for custom orders.  Subject to availability.  Please visit my French Macarons page for more information, then inquire here.

DO YOU MAKE CAKE POPS & CUSTOM COOKIES?

No, I do not, but I can possibly send some referrals.

PAYMENT F.A.Q.

HOW IS PAYMENT HANDLED?

  • Deposits are required to confirm your order and book your date.  Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • If your event happens to be postponed, your non-refundable deposit may be applied to a future date within 4 weeks from the original date; subject to availability.
  • Balances are due two weeks in advance of the event date.  Balances for larger catering orders or weddings, are usually due one month prior to the event date.
  • We use the Venmo or Square Cash app for payment using your smart phone.  If you don’t have either app, you may pay using a credit card with a 4% fee will be added to your invoice.
  • We reserve the right to cancel your order if payment is not made by the due date & you’re non-responsive to a payment reminder e-mail.
  • Wedding payments are managed differently due to advanced bookings, and will be outlined in your invoice.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

MMC Bakes is a licensed home-based business located in Chula Vista, CA.

HOW MANY EMPLOYEES DO YOU HAVE?

None.  I am the only baker & cake decorator for my business.  I am also a full-time mom to two young children, so I have very limited availability.  My orders take priority, and replying to e-mails happens mostly on Monday-Wednesday.  I apologize for the inconvenience!

DO YOU HAVE A FOOD HANDLERS PERMIT?

Yes, I have a valid Manager’s Food Handling Card, and have years of experience working and managing in food service.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes, and I can offer proof of insurance if required by the venue the event is being hosted at.

ARE YOU ALLOWED TO SELL FROM YOUR HOME? 

Yes, MMC Bakes is a registered Cottage Food Operation in San Diego County DEH2017-FCFO-000443.  This means I am legally allowed to sell my approved baked goods in San Diego county, which were made in my home kitchen, directly to the public.
